Come THRU

XO Maria

Margin Shift is a poetry reading series that emphasizes the contributions of anyone who might normally be at the margins of the mainstream literary scene—“poets of color, LGBTQI poets, poets from out of town, poets who are new to town, women poets, undocumented poets, experimental writers (whatever that might mean!), and brand new writers.”

As/Us Journal

My poems Your Throne Was Yours To Keep, Found/Stolen, and La LLorona will be published in the next issue of As/Us Journal. As/Us showcases the creative literary expressions and scholarly work of both emerging and established women writers from around the world. They are interested in publishing works by underrepresented writers particularly Indigenous women and women of color.

Shout Out!

A shout out to my dear friend and editor Gnaomi Siemens. She is the one who writes me letters on cut out paper bags beneath the sliver of moonlight. She is a unique editor. She is also a talented poet, working on her MFA in poetry at Columbia. You can find her poems in Quarto Literary Magazine. Love, Maria
